Symphony of the Seas held the title of world's largest cruise ship for six years until Icon arrived. As the fourth Oasis-class ship, she benefited from everything Royal Caribbean learned from Oasis, Allure, and Harmony — incorporating the best features from each and adding brand-new experiences. Based in Miami, she sails Eastern and Western Caribbean loops year-round and seasonally to the Mediterranean.

✦ The standout feature

The Perfect Storm waterslide complex — three record-breaking waterslides (Typhoon, Cyclone, and the only at-sea version of The Supercell) that twist and turn four decks above the ocean. Combined with two FlowRiders and the zip line, it's the most activity-dense ship in the fleet after Icon.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does Symphony compare to Wonder of the Seas?
Wonder (2022) is newer and added the Suite Neighborhood, an upgraded CocoCay connection, and a revamped Mason Jar Southern restaurant. Symphony has the edge on waterslides (The Supercell) and was slightly more polished at launch. Both are excellent — choose based on itinerary and price.
Is Symphony good for Mediterranean cruises?
Yes. Symphony sails summer Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona or Rome (Civitavecchia), calling at ports including Palma, Marseille, Naples, and Santorini. The large ship means more to do at sea, but it's not the most intimate way to explore the Med.
What is the Ultimate Family Suite on Symphony?
The Ultimate Family Suite sleeps up to 8 across two floors, with a private slide from the living room to the lower level, an outdoor hot tub, a 212-gallon aquarium, two master bedrooms, and a custom LEGO area. It's one of the most talked-about cabin categories on any cruise ship.
Does Symphony stop at CocoCay?
Yes. Most Caribbean sailings include Perfect Day at CocoCay. Symphony passengers have access to all CocoCay attractions including Thrill Waterpark, Chill Island, and multiple beach clubs.
