Harmony of the Seas debuted in 2016 as the world's largest ship and brought together the best innovations Royal Caribbean had developed across the Oasis class — while adding several firsts of her own including the 10-storey Ultimate Abyss dry slide and the first Perfect Storm waterslides. Based at Port Canaveral and sailing seasonally in the Mediterranean, Harmony is consistently rated among cruisers' favourite ships for combining activities, dining, and entertainment in one compelling package.

✦ The standout feature

The Ultimate Abyss — the tallest slide at sea at 10 storeys, 100 feet tall. Riders drop from Deck 16 to Deck 6 at speed. Combined with the Perfect Storm waterslides and two FlowRiders, Harmony has the highest concentration of thrill rides of any pre-Icon Oasis-class ship.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Ultimate Abyss on Harmony of the Seas?
The Ultimate Abyss is a 10-storey, 100-foot-tall dry slide — the tallest slide at sea when it debuted in 2016. Riders enter slide pods at Deck 16 and drop rapidly through twists and turns down to the Boardwalk on Deck 6. It's genuinely thrilling and one of the signature Harmony experiences.
Is Harmony better for families than Oasis?
Harmony has newer features (Ultimate Abyss, Perfect Storm slides) and a slightly more refined layout. Oasis has the Boardwalk's nostalgic appeal and was refreshed in 2019. Both are excellent for families — the choice usually comes down to homeport (Oasis sails from Port Canaveral too) and itinerary preference.
Does Harmony of the Seas sail to Europe?
Yes. Harmony typically sails Mediterranean itineraries from Barcelona in summer, calling at ports including Palma, Marseille, Florence/Pisa (Livorno), and Naples. Winter sailings are Caribbean-based from Port Canaveral.
What Broadway shows are on Harmony?
Harmony has hosted Grease: The Musical — a full Broadway-calibre production in the Royal Theater — along with the Columbus: The Musical Aqua Theater show. Entertainment lineups can vary by sailing season, so check current programming when booking.
